"Plaster in a historic building is like a family album. The handwriting of the artisans, the taste of the original occupants, and the evolving styles of decoration are embodied in the fabric of the building. From modest farmhouses to great buildings, regardless of the ethnic origins of the occupants, plaster has traditionally been used to finish interior walls."
V & J Construction "Plaster Artisans" was founded in 1972 to pursue opportunities in the very specific field of architectural plaster conservation. We address and repair the structural problems of fragile plaster in historic buildings.
Our primary focus is on plaster in buildings of historic, aesthetic or cultural importance. As a result, V & J's client base is generally comprised of governments, institutions (i.e. churches, museums, libraries, universities etc.) and residential owners represented by an architect. If you have challenges related to plaster in an older building, please give us a call to discuss options for its treatment and preservation.
"Quite often restoration is a really good idea to go from "this- to this- it helps to know the right people"
